Goodbye Dr. Schindler
Dr. Eric Schindler, Ph.D. is saying goodbye to CFR after 20 years of service and dedication.
After 20 years at the helm of Child & Family Resources, Inc., Dr. Eric Schindler has decided that it is time to pass the torch and will be retiring from the position of President/CEO prior to summer of 2025.
“It has been an incredible honor to serve as the leader of this unique and very successful human services organization for nearly two decades, and I am so proud of the incredible growth and impact we have had across the state.”
“As a clinical psychologist with a focus on children, families, and the community, I appreciated the tremendous return on investment from focusing on prevention versus treatment. Having had a long career as a mental health professional and director of treatment programs, assuming the role of the leader of an organization where our goals are to intervene upstream to hopefully reduce the need for more intensive treatment, has been a real gift. I have been uplifted by the way Child & Family Resources has helped advance the importance of advocacy to achieve our mission, as we will never move the needle alone just by getting one more contract to serve more clients”.
At Child & Family Resources, we build strong communities where children can reach their full potential. We do this by using effective prevention and education strategies with families, teens, and early educators.
Over the last 20 years, Child & Family Resources has doubled in size and now has offices in 15 cities and towns across the state, serving over 16,000 Arizonans each year with a dedicated staff of nearly 300. Child & Family Resources is a highly respected leader in the prevention of child abuse, promotion of high-quality early childhood education, and youth focused intervention and training programs for substance abuse, pregnancy, and mental illness prevention.
“I look forward to the next phase of my career where I might return to teaching undergraduates, continuing to serve the community through advocacy, and board service, and having summers off to continue my passion for travel and adventure”
