Updates With the Latest at Child & Family Resources and Around Our Community

February is “Domestic Violence Awareness” Month. Also nationally recognized in October, it is a national campaign that is held to raise awareness against Domestic Violence, where organizations and individuals unite to uplift the voices of the survivors. In the United States, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men, experience sexual violence. Domestic Violence is abusive behavior in any type of relationship to gain power and control over a partner. The discussion of Domestic Violence is important to discuss amongst those you love. Teaching how to properly love, care, and learn about the correct and healthy way to build relationships is vital in a child, teen, or adults’ life.
