Child & Family Resources to Hold Their Second Annual Program Round-Up, at the Reid Park Zoo on September 30, 2023

Tucson, AZ– Child & Family Resources (CFR) will be hosting their annual Program Round Up at Reid Park Zoo on Saturday, September 30, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Child & Family Resources is home to a wide array of FREE programs, and they want the public to know all about them! Zoo attendees can visit the Program Round-Up event at no extra charge and will be able to learn about the programming offered in Tucson and throughout Arizona for babies, children, youth, teens, parents, and caregivers, all while being surrounded by the fun and adventure that the Zoo and Program Round-Up brings.

CFR staff from several programs will be located in the Zoo’s Event Garden area to talk about family needs, offer support and educational tips, and play fun family games! Programs that will have a Resource booth include Healthy Families, Prevention Programs for Youth, Child Care Resource & Referral, Employment Opportunities with Child & Family Resources (Human Resources booth), Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Quality First, Nurturing Parenting Program, Family Connections, and Project Best

There will be something for everyone who stops by the Child & Family Resources Program Round-Up. Staff and volunteers will be hosting story times, activity stations, and games. CFR will be raffling baskets of toys, educational materials, and more! You do not have to be present to win.

The Champions for Children award ceremony will be returning in a new way! CFR spent the last year accepting nominations for its three award categories that aim to celebrate and honor members of the Arizona community who have made a big impact on children’s and families’ lives.

This event is free for zoo members and the public who purchase a zoo admission ticket. The event will be centrally located in the Event Garden from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., but you may come and go throughout the zoo as normal until 4 p.m. (the Zoo’s closing time).  Regular admission tickets are available for sale at the zoo entrance, or online at the Zoo’s website.

Child & Family Resources works to build resilient children and families in numerous communities all over Arizona. They strive to help parents meet the challenges of having a low-income or a child with disabilities. CFR is also committed to directly improving the lives of our youth. They organize programs to teach teens how to become better leaders and make healthy choices, and they work to support childcare centers in the area by providing education, professional development, and even food. They do all this with the support of the community.

The Program Round-Up is a first-of-its-kind resource event to benefit and educate the children and families of Tucson and throughout Arizona about the resources available to them. The CFR community has been coming together for many years to stand up, help out, give back, and grow. This fall, CFR is bringing resources to families. To learn more about what resources are available to you and other Arizona families or to simply support the well-being and growth of Arizona’s children, visit the Program Round-Up on October 16th at the Reid Park Zoo with a package of unopened diapers.
